Meditation.
One change in my life that improved my overall health is meditation. I can easily be an over thinker, and it lead to this cycle in which I would over analyze the fact that I was overthinking. But with meditation, my mind feels more at ease. I now love how present I can be and enjoy the little moments in life.
It can be difficult to start, I am currently working on adjusting it into my daily routine.
Start when you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed .
Find a quiet place to sit or lay and just clear your head, start thinking about your breathing.
Focus on your deep breaths and if you do get sidetracked and start to dose into thoughts, let them in but then slowly dismiss those thoughts and continue to think about your breathing.
I first started with just counting my breaths until I no longer needed to count to release the thoughts
I also recommend guided meditations for beginners, you can find them on Youtube and Spotify
Start small, you'd be surprised to see what a 5 minute meditation can do
First things first,
your face is a canvas and what you choose to consume will reflect on your skin.
Water is the KEY to clear and glowy skin. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day, the more the better.
I have learned to “eat my skincare” I am talking, sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, bone broths & sardines. Ever since I started treating food as fuel, my skin, hair & nails have improved immensely.
I have acne prone, combination skin. The less products in my skincare routine the better my skin does. I only cleanse my skin at night and rinse my face in the morning.
I have successfully been clearing up my acne scars and my current routine consists of:
Beauty.
Morning
Glow Recipe: Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops
CLINIQUE: Dramatically Different™ Hydrating Jelly Gel Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid
Night
THAYERS: pH Balancing Daily Cleanser
Bio-Oil: Skincare Oil
Mental health.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Make it a priority. Fuel your mind with knowledge and positivity.
I enjoy listening to educational podcasts, whether it be about unbiased politics, world news, good news, business, and health.
If you are an avid social media user, try following good news accounts. There are plenty out there, it can be overwhelming to constantly listen to all the bad things happening in our world. Set a time limit on all your social media apps, its so easy to fall into a rabbit hole of content.
READ, whether its fiction or non-fiction, this has improved my attention span tenfold. The constant instant gratification of our world can diminish our attention span. Reading helps you slow down and focus.
Gratitude Journal- purchase a small notebook to carry around. Once a week I like to reflect on things that made me smile or felt lucky to have in this world. Whatever it is, just list it. It is so easy to focus on everything going wrong in your life, but this will help you recognize what is going right!
Spend time alone, doing things for fun not just what is on your to-do list. 10-30 minute walks are such game changers.
Every month I’ll be sharing more finds, tips, and stories—because living well is a journey worth updating.

“"We are what we repeatedly do... excellence, therefore, isn't just an act, but a habit and life isn't just a series of events, but an ongoing process of self-definition."
